The Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church Mission Statement

The Mission of Mt Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church is to minister to the spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional, and environmental needs of all people by spreading Christ's liberating gospel through word and deed. At every level in our Church, we shall continue to engage in carrying out the spirit of the Founders of the A.M.E. Church: That is to seek out and save the lost, and serve the needy through our ministries of preaching the gospel, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, housing the homeless, lifting the fallen, helping with jobs for the jobless, administering to the needs of all as we can, and encouraging people to seek economic advancement.

Many of us associate our most deeply-held convictions with a single, life-changing experience. Others have always held certain beliefs sacred. In either case, it is important to talk about our experience and share our story or testimony.

We'll use portions of many of these pages to offer our testimony. For example, if a particular experience or event has been especially inspiring for one of us, we might recount that experience in detail. We might talk about how empty life felt before we found our way, or how our beliefs have allowed us to overcome obstacles such as drugs or alcohol.

Here to meet the needs of all God's people
